Throwback Thursday Bassnectar at the Canopy Club (Urbana, IL) 4/5/10

You can tell this is a throwback by the artist and venue. The Canopy Club is no longer large enough to hold the number of fans that Bassnectar brings, now more suited to stadiums, arenas and large music festivals.

This show was a high-energy thrill. I was on a perch where I could see over the dancing zone and got to see everyone pulsate to the ear-crushing, floor-shaking bass that Nectar is known for. His deep and sometimes shockingly sonic beats are assisted by the Wobble Factory (PK) sound system. That same year, I was lucky enough to hang out with one of the creators of the Wobble Factory (who was touring with him at the time), along with Bassnectar, his manager, and the artist who designed his visuals.  PK sound systems are utilized by other heavy hitters like Excision, the Glitch Mob, Datsik, and Skrillex.
